Additional Information
Showcase unique gemstone focals or designer lampworked beads in this beautiful custom-fit open-frame pendant. This versatile pendant is interchangeable, so you can highlight your most prized bead, other large beads, or stacks of smaller beads within the sterling frame. Imagine it paired with long and short chains, cords, or maybe a strand of tiny beads. Bring your own bead or beads to work with in this fun metalworking class. Size requirements listed in tool list.
Students will Learn:
You will texture metal with stamps, hammers and/or the rolling mill as you create the bead frame. Multi-part soldering techniques, tips and tricks will be covered and a special pin mechanism will be introduced. Professional hand and mechanical finishing techniques will be explored as time allows.
Students should have soldering experience.
Project completion:
Project will be completed in class
Minimum Age Requirement:
At least 18 years old.
Supplies to Bring:
Bring the tools you are most comfortable using to bend and form wire. stamps, hammers and other texture tools as you prefer. Bring in a focal bead up to 1.5 inches or 40 mm square with a hole to fit 14g wire or at least 1.63 mm. The instructor will have extra tools on hand for use as well as tools for sale.
Materials in Kit:
Sterling wire in three sizes, sandpaper and polishing cloth, full written instructions, studio consumables, flux, solder, patina, use of studio tools, torches and solder stations.
One seat per person per class.
