Description:
Create your own wearable galaxy that comes to life when the lights go off -- and learn how to powder-coat metal while you’re at it! Join a former editor from Art Jewelry magazine to explore a proprietary blend of glow-in-the-dark powder coat. This all-levels powder-coating class combines a simplified coating process with watercolor painting techniques to complete an out-of-this-world creation. Learn how to prepare the metal, apply the powder, and cure the powder to create a one-of-a-kind pendant! Additional session offered Friday evening, June 7 (B192309).
Students will Learn:
Learn how to safely and simply (and inexpensively) add color and a durable protective finish to metal components; how to apply a proprietary blend of glow powder coat for a glow-in-the-dark effect; how to incorporate this industrial coating process into their home jewelry studios with minimal tools, supplies, and mess.
Project completion:
Project will be completed in class
Minimum Age Requirement:
At least 12 years old.
Supplies to Bring:
Apron, task lamp.
Materials in Kit:
Metal blanks, hook wire, jump rings, dust mask, tweezers, full-color instructions. Instructor will supply all tools and materials for use in this class.
