Description:
Learn how to set a faceted stone in a custom bezel as you create this stunning mid-century modern minimalist inspired pendant! You’ll improve your technical skills at the bench as you form the bezel, fabricate and attach an elongated bar bail, and set the 10 x 14 mm faceted stone of your choice from a variety of provided options.
Students will Learn:
Learn or improve their skills in soldering, sawing, measuring, filing, finishing, and stone setting as they learn to create a custom bezel setting with an open back for a large faceted stone.
Prerequisites:
Soldering experience helpful
Project completion:
Project will be completed in class
Minimum Age Requirement:
At least 18 years old.
Supplies to Bring:
Bench pin, metal files, metal ruler, safety glasses, terry-cloth towel, wire snips, calipers, saw frame, scribe, curved burnisher, ring clamp, metal cutting shears, dividers or metal ruler, chain or cord of your choice to fit 2 x 3 mm hole.
Pliers:
Flatnose standard, roundnose.
Materials in Kit:
Fine-silver bezel in choice of two sizes, sterling silver sheet, sterling silver rectangle wire, 10 x 14 mm faceted stone (choice of color), instructions, polishing papers, polishing cloth, studio consumables (flux, solder).
Limit:
One seat per person per class.
