What better way to show off a pair of rose cut stones than in a hand-fabricated openwork petal shape? These charming earrings will adorn your ears with style and sparkle as you proudly show off your jewelry-making expertise. The stones truly take center stage in this flattering modified marquise shape, with just three little prongs securely holding them without hiding their beauty and shine.
Students will Learn:
Learn how to hand-fabricate settings using sterling silver wire. Skills include wire shaping and forming, multi-phase soldering, prong formation and secure setting, and hand finishing techniques. Instructor will provide a variety of 10 mm rose-cut stones in your choice of colors, or you may source your own unique stones for a truly one-of-a-kind look!
Prerequisites:
Soldering experience helpful.
Project completion:
Project will be completed in class
Minimum Age Requirement:
At least 18 years old.
Supplies to Bring:
6-in. ruler, bench block, bench pin, metal files, safety glasses, terry-cloth towel, wire snips, mallet.
Pliers:
Roundnose, standard flatnose, looping.
Materials in Kit:
Sterling silver wire, polishing papers, polishing cloth, two rose-cut gemstones, pair of sterling silver earring wires, instructions, studio consumables (flux, solder, butane).
Limit:
One seat per person per class.
