Maggie Thompson Maggie Thompson is a self-taught jewelry designer who began designing with seed beads as a hobby 30 years ago. Eight years ago she turned this passion into her business, Maggie T Designs. Her Etsy shop, www.MaggieTDesigns.etsy.com features her many designs sold as both kits and tutorials. She is also the inventor of “The Traveller”, a portable kumihimo stand, available for sale in her shop. In the last 4 years she’s written 3 ebooks and a webinar for Interweave Press/F&W Media showcasing her specialty of Japanese Kumihimo braiding. She also has a number of kits for sale online in the Interweave store. Her convertible necklace/bracelet design “Kumi 3 Ways” was the cover photo for the April/May 2018 Beadwork issue. She also has a bracelet entitled "Crossing the Bridge" published in the August issue of Beadwork. Maggie has taught classes around the Midwest and regularly teaches classes at Beadville USA in Chaska, MN (www.beadvillechaska.com) where both her kits and kumihimo stands are available. Maggie is a current Board member of the Upper Midwest Bead Society, a Minneapolis, MN based organization founded by Diane Fitzgerald in 1987.
