Deborah Conti

Deborah Conti Deborah Conti likes exploring and animating the boundaries of glass and neon, metals and plastics, fibers and leather — playing with torching, sandblasting and electroforming; melting and merging — as well as experimenting with untraditional, reclaimed materials. One never knows what will capture her imagination next. She came out of Ithaca, got her degrees in Lexington, and rambled through Champaign and Raleigh before a long stint in Des Moines. There, she taught lampworking at The Des Moines Art Center, Iowa State University, and participated in The Visiting Artist School Programs based in Iowa. She also exhibited her jewelry in a variety of juried shows across the country. Her family moved to Washington DC in 2006 and she began working and teaching out of the Washington Glass School and exhibiting in a variety of gallery shows. In 2010, Deborah and her family relocated to Satellite Beach, where she opened her own studio and taught at The Foosner Art Center. A few years ago, Deborah and her husband Stephen started the Art-Science Incubator where she continues to push the envelope and sharing her creativity.
