Description:
These elliptical-shaped earrings feature graduated beads in copper or stone. Students will do just enough weaving to get a taste that will make them want to make more. Students will also learn how to make their own earring wires and properly finish the earrings to a gleam. Additional session offered Tuesday evening, June 4 (B191366).
Students will Learn:
Learn how to use simple mandrels to create shapes; use their fingers to create smooth spirals and to do a figure-8 weave which they can embellish with graduated beads; learn several methods to create earring wires.
Project completion:
Project will be completed in class
Minimum Age Requirement:
At least 16 years old.
Supplies to Bring:
Chasing hammer, flush-cut wire cutters, reading glasses.
Pliers:
Chainnose, nylon-jaw wire straightener, roundnose.
Materials in Kit:
18-, 20-, 26-gauge copper wire; graduated round beads; liver of sulfur; polishing pads; ruler; printed tutorial.
Limit:
One seat per person per class.
