Description:
Learn the most up-to-date ways to etch both sides of bronze metal using minimal tools and set up for great results every time. The instructor’s secret etching tips are often sought after in online groups. While pieces are being etched, students will receive guidance in making simple soldered rings and bead connectors. Putting it all together is so satisfying!
Students will Learn:
Learn the most economical and easy way to etch bronze metal, both sides at the same time, with no crazy set ups! Other techniques include soldering, wire wrapping, metal filing, drilling, surface finishing, patina, and design balance.
Project completion:
Project will be completed in class
Minimum Age Requirement:
At least 16 years old.
Supplies to Bring:
Bench block, chasing hammer, cutters, mandrels, metal files, paper, pen, ruler. Optional: Earring mandrel if you own one, ring mandrel (not necessary but helpful).
Pliers:
Chainnose, flatnose without grooves.
Materials in Kit:
18-gauge bronze metal brass chain, jump rings, beads, 16-gauge bronze wire.
Limit:
One seat per person per class.
