Description:
Learn how to etch design and text on bronze metal, then attach it to a beautiful asymmetrical leather strip using mini hardware. Students will be given a variety of design copy to choose from and tiny text to add personal meaning as a reminder on your wrist. Install snaps for an easy-to-wear, easy to get on and off wrist adornment.
Students will Learn:
Learn the most economical methods to etch metal; how to make image/text copy; how to transfer image/text to metal; how to etch bronze; surface finishing techniques using patina; use of mini hardware; how to drill metal; simple leather working skills including adding traditional snaps to leather.
Project completion:
Project will be completed in class
Minimum Age Requirement:
At least 16 years old.
Supplies to Bring:
Chasing hammer, metal files, paper, pen, ruler.
Materials in Kit:
Leather, leather snaps, images and small text to share in class, etchant to share in class, mini hardware, bronze metal.
Limit:
One seat per person per class.
