Description:
Students will use the Now That’s A Jig! and traditional wireworking tools to create whimsical bird cages that combine wire and a variety of beads including ceramic birds. These bird cages will will make charming pendants or ornaments and each one will be unique.
Students will Learn:
Learn wireworking techniques using both the NTAJ! and pliers; learn how to adapt designs to make a variety of sizes and styles of wire birdhouses.
Project completion:
Project will be completed in class
Minimum Age Requirement:
At least 16 years old.
Supplies to Bring:
Bench block, chasing hammer, permanent marker (pointed), plastic hammer, ruler.
Pliers:
Chainnose, flush end-cutting, needlenose.
Materials in Kit:
Plated copper wire, assorted beads and crystal, ceramic bird beads by artist Diane Hawkey.
Limit:
One seat per person per class.
