Description:
Students will focus on how to use their fingers to organically shape wire to create a unique and stunning pendant. Sarah will show students how to not use their tools and how to fix mistakes in shaping with their fingers. Every pendant will come out different and will be one-of-a-kind. Students will use two different weaves to complete their pendant.
Students will Learn:
Learn how to use their fingers instead of tools to organically shape wire. The instructor will go over two different weaves, the modified soumak weave and the basic figure-8 weave.
Prerequisites:
Familiar with wire weaving.
Project completion:
Project will be completed in class
Minimum Age Requirement:
At least 18 years old.
Supplies to Bring:
Cutters, magnifiers, Optivisors, permanent marker (pointed), task lamp, fine-tip beading awl.
Pliers:
Roundnose.
Materials in Kit:
16-, 18-, 28-gauge fine-silver wire; bobbin; dowel.
Limit:
One seat per person per class.
