Description:
This is an intermediate level class for students to learn how to make an elegant, layered beaded bead using techniques of peyote stitch and two-needle cross weave. This bead is a firm, finished piece and Regina will show students how to do size variations, supply substitutions, and ways to finish off the inner edgings to accommodate any size of beaded rope or leather cord when used as a necklace. There will be a number of class samples in a variety of colors and combinations. The instructor will also teach a simple beaded rope.
Students will Learn:
This class will begin with a circular peyote stitch; then a variety of cross weaving on top of stitch-in-the-ditch; as well as some finishing methods.
Prerequisites:
A basic knowledge of peyote stitch, and some familiarity with beading and bead terminology is also necessary.
Project completion:
Project will be completed in class
Minimum Age Requirement:
At least 16 years old.
Supplies to Bring:
Assorted beading needles, Fireline 8 lb. test, microcrystalline wax, scissors, task lamp.
Materials in Kit:
Delicas; 3 mm Swarovski crystals in three colors, pearls; 15/0 seed beads.
Limit:
One seat per person per class.
