Description:
In this in-depth class, students will learn techniques for creatively embellishing a bead without overwhelming it. Numerous weaves will be demonstrated. Students can work at their own comfort level, or challenge themselves by trying new weaves. If students want to create their own lampworked bead and then wire wrap it, please refer to class B191778 offered Wednesday afternoon, June 5 and Thursday morning, June 6.
Students will Learn:
Learn techniques such as bail-making, wire-weaving, and coiling to embellish organic nugget beads; learn how to effectively follow the curves and flow of the beads, then apply patina and polish to a high shine.
Prerequisites:
Wirework experience helpful.
Project completion:
Project will be completed in class
Minimum Age Requirement:
At least 16 years old.
Supplies to Bring:
Flush-cut wire cutters, reading glasses.
Pliers:
Chainnose, nylon-jaw wire straightener, roundnose.
Materials in Kit:
Organic lampworked bead; 18-, 20-, 26-gauge copper wire; liver of sulfur; polishing pads; printed tutorial; ruler.
Limit:
One seat per person per class.
