Description:
Learn the fundamental skills of leather working while making this beautiful rustic cuff. Students will learn the basics of setting rivets, and how to sew leather in this all levels class. Students will cut out their leather pieces, set stitch and spot marks, dye their leather, and sew their cuff together.
Students will Learn:
Learn how to cut and prepare leather, dye it, and set rivets and stitch marks. Everyone will learn rivet setting and basic leather sewing skills, and how to preserve their leather when the cuff is done. Students will be able to make their cuff unique with a selection of metal spot colors and leather dyes.
Project completion:
Project will be completed in class
Minimum Age Requirement:
At least 16 years old.
Supplies to Bring:
Permanent marker (pointed); plastic, rawhide, or rubber hammer; ruler; scissors; 3-4 wooden clothespins; work apron. Optional: Magnification or lighting, if needed.- a work apron is also advised. your hammer can be plastic, rawhide or rubber, just not metal.
Pliers:
chainnose.
Materials in Kit:
Leather, metal, metal rivets, sewing cord, instruction handout. The instructor will provide all leather working tools, leather dyes, needles, finishes, and protective gloves for use in class.
Limit:
One seat per person per class.
