Description:
Focus on new works in jewelry and resin in casting objects. Learn Susan’s personal studio techniques for building colorful and sophisticated lightweight objects in finished jewelry. Build a mold out of rubber silicone, mix and pour resin, and add inclusions to make unique finished objects. Learn different techniques in casting such as Dirty Casting and glass resin.
Students will Learn:
Learn how to build a rubber mold; how to work with a cast resin object when it is complete; sanding and finishing skills.
Project completion:
Project will be completed in class
Minimum Age Requirement:
At least 16 years old.
Supplies to Bring:
Metal files, objects to cast. Optional: Personal small objects such as photos, inclusions such as text, leaves, sticks, herbs, sand, dried flowers.
Pliers:
standard flatnose, standard roundnose
Materials in Kit:
Rubber silicone; finished resin component; expendables such as resin, mica flakes, powders, cold enamels, solder, sandpaper, wire to use in class.
Limit:
One seat per person per class.
