Description:
This pendant design is definitely outside the box! This pendant features mixed metal, layers, zippers, and several types of wire weaving and wrapping. Students will learn best practices for points of attachment and ways to adapt this design for other uses.
Students will Learn:
Forming, layering, weaving, wrapping and coiling techniques; as well as ways of adapting this design for other uses.
Prerequisites:
Previous wire-working experience will be very helpful.
Project completion:
Project will be completed in class
Minimum Age Requirement:
At least 16 years old.
Supplies to Bring:
Beading mat, bench block, chasing hammer, flush-cut wire cutters, permanent marker (pointed), reading glasses, scissors, tape measure.
Pliers:
Chainnose, nylon-jaw wire straightener, standard roundnose.
Materials in Kit:
16-, 18-, 26-gauge copper wire; 14-gauge half-round copper wire; repurposed zipper; 2 mm, 3 mm, 4 mm copper beads; copper head pins; copper chain; use of liver of sulfur, patina, polishing pads, 600 grit sandpaper.
Limit:
One seat per person per class.
