Additional Information
Fabricate and solder a hollow box pendant that is suspended on a balled and hinged wire hanger. The dimensions of the “box” are 1-in. wide x 2 1/8-in. high x .188-in. deep.
Students will Learn:
Learn how to use multi-temp solders as well as heat control to fabricate a box pendant with multiple solder joins. The top of the pendant features a soldered spiral and two half-dome wire bars as embellishments. Wire will be balled and formed to create the hinged hanger, and butane torches will be used for soldering.
Previous soldering experience required.
Project completion:
Project will be completed in class
Minimum Age Requirement:
At least 18 years old.
Supplies to Bring:
Hard plastic safety glasses. Instructor provides use of all tools required for the project. Students with close up vision issues should bring magnifiers and/or task lamps.
Materials in Kit:
Sterling silver sheet; sterling, fine-silver wire; silver bezel strip; multi-temp silver solder; chocolate. The necklace chain is not part of the kit fee but will be available for purchase from the instructor.
