How do you get a new background behind a bead or glass art piece? Two workflows will be demonstrated in class using Photoshop CS5 and Elements 11 on how to extract objects from backgrounds, add new backgrounds, create photo realistic shadows, and more.
Students will Learn:
How to create color correct files of art for use on a website, Etsy, in magazine articles, books, portfolios and for juried competitions. Compositing techniques to add new gradient backgrounds, shadows, and additional special effects will be demonstrated. Plus, learn the four steps every artist needs to know to produce accurate files in Photoshop and how to purchase recent versions of Photoshop at far less than the full retail price. Minimum Age Requirement:
At least 16 years old.
Supplies to Bring:
Digital photographic files of 6-8 jewelry pieces; beads or glass art and a laptop with Photoshop CS3, 4, 5 or 6 standard, extended or academic and/or Photoshop Elements 10 (or later) already installed. One workflow will be demonstrated using the full Photoshop CS5 and another will be demonstrated using Photoshop Elements 11. Students should be familiar with their laptop and know how to open Photoshop, save, open and close files.
Materials in Kit:
Two sample images and two printed workflows.
