Additional Information
Description:
Chaton montees work so beautifully with chain mail. The sparkle of the metal is elevated by the sparkle of rhinestones for a complementary effect of luxury jewelry. This patchwork rhinestone bracelet is a true statement piece that showcases six rhinestone colors within a patchwork square motif. In this project, students will use basic Japanese chain mail but in a horizontal rather than vertical approach. This is what allows you to see squares appear from your rhinestone configurations.
Students will Learn:
Learn how to mount rhinestones onto jump rings and form squares with jump rings and rhinestones; Japanese chain mail weave; horizontal composition of the bracelet structure; how to attach a slide clasp.
Prerequisites:
Students should be comfortable opening and closing jump rings.

Project will not be completed in class
