Description:
This traditional Japanese technique will open up an entirely new field of design ideas for students. The kit includes two custom handmade tools by Frank Scott that were designed specifically for making this bead. Class involves the use of a torch with open flame and gases. Wear safety (didymium) glasses, cotton clothing, and closed-toe shoes. Tie long hair back.
Students will Learn:
How to construct and pull a complex flower murrini cane. The class will then prepare the murrini, and learn how to place the flower and open the petals on the bead.
Project completion:
Project will be completed in class
Minimum Age Requirement:
At least 18 years old.
Supplies to Bring:
Didymium glasses, personal lampworking tools, metal soup can.
Materials in Kit:
Custom-made Japanese ball tool, custom-made tungsten pencil pick, dichroic glass, glass rods.
Limit:
One seat per person per class.
