Additional Information
Transferring copy onto round objects for etching can be a bit tricky. Students will learn the techniques to successfully put numbers, words, and artwork onto a cylinder using common office supplies. With this technique, we will transform two sizes of copper pipe found at the hardware store into statement beads to be worn vertically or horizontally.
Students will Learn:
How to get copy onto a cylinder with common office supply materials; how to prepare metal to etch and keep the inside of the cylinder from getting etched; how to clean metal after its etched; patina techniques; proper disposal of chemicals; wire-wrapping embellishments to add bling.
Must have good dexterity and hand/eye coordination since it’s a bit tricky to get copy onto a round object.
