Description:
Create “fantasy” octopus centerpieces with curling tendrils and an artist-made sparkly crystal clay cabochon. Offset the piece with a flowing pearl strap, enhancing the beauty of the sea creatures stitched within the necklace.
Students will Learn:
How to accent the beauty of the piece by backstitching around the cabochon, and how to use various sizes of seed beads to create the octopus-like necklace components.
Prerequisites:
Students must know flat peyote.
Project completion:
Project will not be completed in class
Minimum Age Requirement:
At least 16 years old.
Supplies to Bring:
Beading mat, magnifiers, microcrystalline wax, reading glasses, scissors, synthetic wax, task lamp.
Materials in Kit:
8/0, 11/0, 15/0 seed beads; Swarovski 3 mm, 8 mm pearls; three artist-made clay cabochons; magnetic clasp; needles; thread. Kits will be available in several colorways.
Limit:
One seat per person per class.
