Make an adorable needle-felted bird in a nest that you can wear or display. This project was inspired by Three LIttle Birds, the wildly popular BeadDreams 2015 collaboration between Kim Van Antwerp and Mountain Robbins Studio.
Students will Learn:
How to needle felt wool onto an armature starting with pre-wired glass components to create a bird sculpture; use pliers to shape pre-annealed bronze wire into a nest; manipulate colorful silk and feathers with fine wire, needle and thread to embellish the nest.
Students should be able to use pliers.
Project will be completed in class
Minimum Age Requirement:
At least 16 years old.
Supplies to Bring:
Assorted beading needles, beading thread, scissors. car wash-type sponge.
Chainnose without grooves, flush side-cutting, roundnose.
Materials in Kit:
Pre-wired lampworked eyes and beak by Wayne Robbins, wool, silk ribbon, bronze wire, custom-made needle felting tool, assorted beads.
One seat per person per class.
