Description:
Great for beginners, this class will be guided practice for the knotting technique of tatting with a shuttle and will teach students how to read a basic tatting pattern to make a filigree heart pendant. Students can work at their own pace and skill level while receiving individual attention in this technique-based class.
Students will Learn:
How to make the double stitch, which is the most essential skill for following any tatting pattern. Students will also learn the basic design elements commonly used, such as chains, rings, joins, and beaded picots.
Project completion:
Project will not be completed in class
Minimum Age Requirement:
At least 12 years old.
Supplies to Bring:
6-in. ruler, beading mat, pencils, reading glasses, scissors, task lamp.
Pliers:
Chainnose.
Materials in Kit:
Tatting shuttle, #10 Lizbeth thread, steel crochet hook (US #12), Toho 11/0 seed beads, 10 x 3 mm mini dagger bead, jump ring, necklace ribbon or chain, 11 x 11 mm metal filigree flower with 6 open petals, collapsible eye beading needle, #3 thread for practice, embroidery needle.
Limit:
One seat per person per class.
