Students will take a multidisciplinary approach to bead-making and leave with at least one finished feature bead, as well as a basic knowledge of various techniques that can be applied in endless combinations to create vibrant embellished wool beads at home. Wool beads are pictured in a completed sample necklace (findings available for purchase), but can be used for whatever purpose you choose.
Students will Learn:
Students will merge beadwork, wool applique, and embroidery; learn how the components of even a single bead can be endlessly rearranged and incorporated into more complex pieces. Students will also receive tips and tricks for successful use of threads, beads, wool, and other key components.
Experience with basic embroidery stitches required (blanket stitch, fly stitch, and bullion knot).
Project will be completed in class
Minimum Age Requirement:
At least 18 years old.
Supplies to Bring:
Assorted beading needles; assorted accent beads, Delicas, small buttons (your selection of beads should include 11/0 seed beads and other decorative 3 mm beads or smaller in an assortment of finishes); awl; beeswax; diagonal wire cutters; task lamp; beading mat; scissors; plastic pencil box or craft container with a lid. Many supplies will be included but feel free to bring some of your favorite embellishments.

Materials in Kit:
Felted wool balls in various sizes (10), #10 Milliners needle, felted wool circles in various sizes, decorative threads, assorted beads and embellishments.
One seat per person per class.
