Students will explore in depth the potential of the wondrous Warped Square, a simple peyote stitch form that springs into the air of its own accord. While working on a pair of earrings, we’ll discuss the thread path and learn about exploding these shapes into pieces that can be used as components in their own right.
Students will Learn:
The thread path for this peyote stitch square, ways to use these components to design jewelry, and how to cut apart their beadwork to explore its potential.
A basic knowledge of peyote stitch.
Project will not be completed in class
Minimum Age Requirement:
At least 16 years old.
Supplies to Bring:
Assorted beading needles, Delicas, beading mat, beading thread, scissors, task lamp.
Materials in Kit:
Warped square patterns (5 pairs), brass earring wires, swivel findings, warped square thread path pattern.
One seat per person per class.
