PREVIEW THIS YEAR'S CLASS SELECTION
The “Byzantine Squared Bracelet” adds a new dimension to the Byzantine weave. The utilization of square wire adds more surfaces to the jewelry. As a result, the sparkle and shine is intensified. The bracelet is flexible and very comfortable to wear. You will be the envy of your friends with this new bracelet. |
Take this pendant for a spin! This pendant packs so many techniques into one unique piece. You’ll create something cool while you learn about cold connections, etching, and more. Everyone knows you can be moved by jewelry, but it’s more fun when jewelry is moved by you! Prefer your pendant to just sit and not spin? No problem, as you will learn how to stamp, patina, and if you wish, rivet metal right into place! Create a custom spinner using one of two techniques, hand-cut metal or silver clay. Additional session on Friday morning, June 11, (B10833). |
Students will explore the distinctive characteristics of Wasser glass. The glass coatings have a painterly effect caused by the combination of unique stippled colors in a retro color palette, and the metal coatings mimic precious metals. Students will engrave designs in the metal to reveal the complementary color lying beneath the surface. They will then arrange fun precut shapes with predesigned flash glass into wearable art. Students will also incorporate sandblasted designs on flash glass into the pendants. Because this glass is thin and lightweight, it makes it easy to cut and ideal for making jewelry. Students will learn how to use the unique glass and firing schedule to create three pendant pieces. Projects will be available the next day or mailed. Additional session offered Thursday morning, June 10 (B10619). |
