PREVIEW THIS YEAR'S CLASS SELECTION
Students will learn the basics of bead loomwork, including functional principles with a Japanese loom. This class covers two warping procedures, weaving techniques of straight/increasing/decreasing, three terminating methods, fringing, netting, and embellishing. The instructor will introduce “magic terminating,” which enables students to save 80 percent of terminating time when compared with the usual method. Also, students will learn design and color tips as they make beautiful patterns. Students should bring their loomwork questions. They will get answers from an instructor who has a thorough knowledge of bead looming and is a qualified color coordinator. This class is taught by a Japanese instructor who is fluent in English. |
Do you have loads of silver scrap just sitting in a container at your work station? If you're not interested in investing in expensive equipment but would love to learn a great technique for recycling your silver scraps, this is the class for you! Using an inexpensive crucible, a tin can, and an old broom you can create some very unique organic-looking silver components to incorporate into your designs. These naturally shaped castings can be wire wrapped, incorporated into seed bead work, or have jump rings soldered on to create one-of-a-kind jewelry using silver you already own. Bring your own silver scraps or buy some from me in class at fair market value and let’s take your favorite technique and design some awesome new jewelry. Wire, stone, found objects, seed beads, or clay -- they'll all work! |
Antique gold and silver metal flower and leaf shapes complement each other throughout this vintage-look design. Tiny glass pearls nest in the centers of each flower, all linked together to make a very fluid, wearable bracelet. A small button clasp with a soldered flower on top completes the floral-themed design. |
